Inspiration of character style

Early tests

Character design ver 1

we chose a Japanese style Sailor uniform for the character and used the same shades of blue to create the consistency of uniform. I’ve decided to use Sailor uniform is because that i want to reinforce the Asian elements in character designs.

Character design ver 2

We were suggested the fact that sailor uniform might look too sexualised toward the female characters. Therefore, we change the sailor uniforms into normal shirts and skirts, but we still like to maintain each character’s personality in terms of their outfits.

Final Character design

We further refine the clothing of each character, to create a consistency as well as realistic school life outfits. Also, we added a full turnaround of Aiko at the age of 7~8, as a reference for our flashback scene.
